Support McGuffey · Scholarship Fund
Give $750 and get $750.*
Ohio tax law allows taxpayers to donate to our scholarship fund and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit up to $750 annually. If your Ohio tax liability is equal to or greater than your donation, it ultimately costs you nothing.

Every dollar funds Montessori scholarships
How it works
Scholarship giving, step by step
All donations are used for scholarships that provide access to a high-quality Montessori education.
- For donations to qualify for the state tax credit, they must be made through our Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) website, operated through the Ohio Association of Independent Schools.
- Donate by credit card or check. If donating by check, enter your donation on the site and the prompts will tell you where to send it.
- The tax credit is non-refundable, meaning it cannot be greater than your total tax liability.
- Donations through the SGO site are automatically earmarked for McGuffey.
- NEW! Donations made by tax day count for the prior tax year, so you can confirm your Ohio tax liability before choosing an amount.
- Married couples filing jointly are each eligible to donate up to $750, for a combined credit of up to $1,500, and can now give in a single donation.
- Grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, friends: ANYONE can give, provided they are Ohio taxpayers.
- NEW! Coming January 1, 2027: a federal tax credit of up to $1,700 per taxpayer for qualifying scholarship donations. Ohio has chosen to participate.
Not an Ohio resident? Contribute to the Scholarship Fund by check, noting “Scholarship Fund” in the memo field. Please reach out to the Head of School with any questions.
* As always, contact your tax advisor regarding any charitable donations.
